“1983” was founded in 2019 on the ground floor of a local artist’s ancestral home in an old walled village, Kam Tin. The space hosts events on an irregular basis and, by arrangement, can be used for conversations, gatherings, seminars, screenings, performances, workshops, live streams, and more. Its semi‑domestic, semi‑studio configuration blurs conventional boundaries of definition, positioning the site as a point of connection and exchange for cultural practitioners moving between art and life, the local and the international.

「一九八三」成立於2019年，是每一個願意分享房子的想法。它的母空間位於錦田老圍村內本地藝術家祖屋的底層。空間不定期舉辦活動，經預約後，可提供場地讓訪客們作傾談、聚餐、研討會、放映會、表演、工作坊、直播等。半家居半工作室的擺設模糊了現實諸般定義的邊界，而此空間強調文化工作者在藝術與生活間，本地與國際間過渡的場域相互連結和交流。
